The All Progressives Congress (APC) National chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, yesterday began his unofficial visit to members of APC Spain Chapter which according to its Director, Media and Publicity, Prince Kelly O. Udebhulu, is ‘anchored upon encouragement of the Nigerian professionals and youths in Diaspora to be more proactive in the political activities in Nigeria rather than relenting in efforts that old politicians will never give out opportunities to excel in Nigeria politics back home. He further stated ‘He not only displayed yesterday his accommodative qualities but humility which serves as roadmap to greatness in our encounters with him these days.’
The APC National Chairman landed the Madrid International airport (Barajas Airport, Madrid) where he met a clearly elated crowd of APC Spain chapter members including the Spain Chapter chairman,Comrade Adeayo Tella who has been credited with facilitating and encouraging the visit, as well as Prince Kelly O. Udebhulu amongst others.
In a short speech at the airport Chief John Odigie-Oyegun expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him by Nigerians in Spain. He further assured them that he will always encourage youth empowerment stating that never in his entire life has he believed or worked with a mindset that there are no vibrant and ever prepared youths both in Nigeria and abroad who will not be able to rule Nigeria as has been experienced in other countries such as Canada today. He went further to say that the challenge has been with a few of the youths whose mind-set judged that chances are not there.
Prince Kelly Udebhulu in his closing remark stated ‘His display of accommodative qualities, humility, acceptability and leadership handshakes of a father to his children was enough to cancel that mind-set among Nigerian youths that our leaders will not create that enabling environment to grow if you are prepared to be part of the political activities in Nigeria and not staying on the fence believing that manna as in the days of Moses will fall from heaven and bring the desired developmental change to Nigeria’
